Grizzly Stampede: ELK Studios' 50,000x High-Volatility Slot

Grizzly Stampede from ELK Studios is a 5-reel, 4-row slot with high volatility and a maximum win of 50,000x the bet. The studio lists the release date as September 1st and calls it a "don't run" game, with synced symbols, wilds, multiplying wilds, a bonus and a super bonus.

The story is built around a cursed hunting ground. Millions of years after the last T-Rex tore through the base of Rage Mountain, a new apex predator has claimed the land, driven by an ancient spirit. That predator is the grizzly. The look draws on North American shamanism, with tense, mystic background music and a menacing totem standing to the right of the reels. Moose, cougar, eagle, wolf and bear make up the animal symbols.

Stampede and Totem

The Stampede symbol, marked by glowing bear paw prints, drives the base game. Two of them on the same row trigger a Stampede, which turns every symbol between them, and the two Stampede symbols themselves, into Grizzly symbols. A Super Stampede goes further and adds more Grizzly symbols to the reels.

A Stampede symbol that doesn't trigger anything isn't wasted. A single one sends its energy to the totem, and the leftover symbols charge the Totem Pole. When the Totem feature fires, which can happen on any spin, it empties the totem and the grizzly spirit places several Stampede symbols across the reels.

Wilds substitute for any paying symbol. When a wild is part of a win, a multiplier may be revealed.

Free spins, Super Bonus and X-iter

Bear skulls act as Scatters, and three or more start the Bonus game. Players get extra spins for every two additional Scatters. During the bonus, golden grizzly tokens convert symbols into Grizzly or Raging Grizzly symbols. They can also unlock up to 10 extra reel positions, expanding the grid to a maximum of 6×5. The Super Bonus version awards extra grizzly tokens before the first spin, and sometimes extra spins as well.

X-iter lets players skip the base game. It offers five modes, from a 3x bet that gives more than four times the usual chance of triggering the bonus, up to a 250x bet that buys the Super Bonus. Players can also buy the regular bonus or activate the Grizzly Spirit Totem bonus straight away. Bonus Hunt and Mega Hunt raise the stake to improve the odds of reaching the free spins.
